I am making a game involving being an assasin and sniping targets. However, I only want the player to have one shot. How do I make the player lose (get a game over) when they use that one shot? I already have the ammo set to only one shot.

if you want the player to die when he uses that shot, then put in:

into the script for the gun

Do you mean they lose only if they miss with that shot... because as I read it at the moment they would lose as soon as they shoot...

Oh, yes. Killing the target is set as an objective, so I want it to somehow check for the no ammo after it checks for all objectives complete.

It's a neat idea. Unfortunately theres no scripting commands that are relative to ammo.

What you could do instead is create a zone where the player is shooting from and give it a script that makes the player lose the game five seconds after they press the left mouse button (aka shoot ).

This way if they shoot and hit the target, they win (if the target is set as objective). If they miss, they lose.

Thats the best way I can think of doing it right now. It would be nice if they added ammo related fpi scripting.

...outstanding idea.

Make sure the player is well briefed before the scenario, to allow the all or nothing consequences sink in.

Gee, thanks so much! It's looking really good now!

An abandoned construction makes a good place for a sniper...

Climb up quickly, before your target gets away...

Your gun awaits you...

Locate the target amongst the crowd...

Mission Complete.

Who taught you FPI? You can't check if mouse buttons are clicked, and using the QUANTITY command could possibly yield a way to check ammo count....

Sorry coffeegrunt?

I taught myself FPI when I purchased fpsc three years ago. I'm positive that the mouse buttons have values for the SCANCODEKEYPRESSED condition.

No, using the QUANTITY command would not yield a way to check ammo count.
