i still think Darkbasic shoucl have an option for making dlls like

ProcedureDLL AttachProcess(Instance)
EndProcedure

; Called when the program release (free) the DLL
;
ProcedureDLL DetachProcess(Instance)
EndProcedure

; Both are called when a thread in a program call or release (free) the DLL
;
ProcedureDLL AttachThread(Instance)
EndProcedure

ProcedureDLL DetachThread(Instance)
EndProcedure

ProcedureDLL Test(Message$)
Print Message$
Endprocedure

DB ain't PB ... the way its setup it'd be close to impossible to make that kinda additions.

I wouldn't doubt that perhaps DarkBASIC 3.0 might be setup differently to accomidate for more things, i wouldn't worry too much about what the future stores. Sides its not exactly like it would do any good, think about it you can use C to create DLLs and there are plenty free online C/C++ compilers.

If you want to produce DLLs for DBPro, there are many languages out there capable of it - loads of free ones.

If you want a free BASIC that can do it, try BCX - they have a group on yahoo, and are some of the most helpful people I've seen on the net.

IanM they're pointless because DBP doesn't recognise them, and you can't make them TPF anyways - which is kinda wasteful not to do for DBP

There's no reason that BCX can't generate the right type of DLL's. It converts BASIC to C, then uses LCC-Win32 to compile the code.

I know for a fact that LCC can produce TPC DLLs because I played with it for a while doing just that. I only dropped LCC because I missed all the nice stuff from C++.

Also, there have been some moves to allow BCX to produce code for various C++ compilers too.
