Does anyone know whether you can convert the x files to 3ds max files and modify the models? I've been trying for days and I have some new models I want to try out, but I can't scale them appropriately or even get them in the game. If you know anything, let me know please. Thanks.

Ok, I can now export the models via panda exporter, but I need to know how to import models into 3ds max. Anyone know anything?

this sounds like a piracy confession to me. if you own 3ds maxx, doesnt it come with like a 900 page book *Manual/tutorials etc* that explains every aspect of 3ds max?
I mean the program costs like what 900+ im pretty sure it comes with the appropriate documentation

You'd also get better responses posting on an Autodesk forum.

you need 3 programs
1)Open the X file in Fragmotion
2)Export the model in Milkshape format (ms3d)
3)open the ms3d file whit Milkshape and export it in obj or 3ds
4)Load the model in 3DS Max
