Yesterday I downloaded and isntalled Dark GDK and VC 2008 (im used to VC 6.0 ^^)
Very cool, been messing around a bit. After I found out you could load BSPs, I thougth I had to try t because my computer is covered in them but this line:

dbLoadBSP("C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain\contruct_a1.pk3", "testmap.bsp");

gives me this error (compiles fine, but when debugging);
First-chance exception at 0x00000000 in Dark GDK - 3D Game1.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00000000.
Unhandled exception at 0x00000000 in Dark GDK - 3D Game1.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00000000.

Access violation mostly says it all? Although the solution could be many. Either you aren't logged in as administrator etc. Check your rights. if you are sure of that. Maybe you are just having the map open in the editor etc? Many editors tend to lock their files as they are loaded so that it won't be changed from somewhere else while editing. So close it if you can

Though personally i have never experienced this, never loaded BSP's either. But try, just an idea

I did think about this. I have admin fine, and the map shouldnt be open in anything. I think it says exactly the same thing when the path is wrong as well, so I don't think that's the problem

Well I guess that error just meant it coldnt find the file, because i moved directory and sorted it out, then i got a new error

Quote: "Windows has triggered a breakpoint in Dark GDK - 3D Game1.exe.

This may be due to a corruption of the heap, which indicates a bug in Dark GDK - 3D Game1.exe or any of the DLLs it has loaded.

This may also be due to the user pressing F12 while Dark GDK - 3D Game1.exe has focus.

The output window may have more diagnostic information."

He may or May not be able to post that BSP as its An ET:RTCW map.
Ie probally copyrighted.

Its fan based version of RTCW's Multiplayer tho so it may be allowed out.

eitherway ET:QW > ET:RTCW Even if RTCW was uber

Stuck in the land of the confused! and loving it!

Enemy Territory:Quake Wars is better than Enemy Territory:Return To Castle Wolfenstein, but Return To Castle Wolfenstein was the best.

Did I get it right?

About the map...no it looks to me like it is Jezza's map inside the pk3 that holds his textures that are common with the contruct_a1.pk3 file That is how you do things in the Quake/RTCW/Etc. world.

Your trouble could be nearly anywhere. Try another map in that pk3 file. You can look into the pk3 with a utility, but I assume you know that already. Have you verified the map otherwise using your map editing tool? Which tool are you using?

C:\Program Files\The Game Creators\Dark GDK\Samples\Bin\Media\ikzdm1.pk3

There, finally! Try that. If that chokes, you need to look to the code.

yeh I recon the problem must be with the map. I made it myself, and it runs fine in ET. but I tried other BSPs, both Id tech 3 and 2, and the only one that worked was tyhe one from the sample. so why does that one work?

well I looked the map that comes with the sample up, and it was a Q3A map, so I tried compiling a Q3A map in good old gtk radiant (i dont have Q3A so im not sure whether map worked, but it should have done). And that gave me exactly the same error when laoding. and quake 2 files appear to be loading fine with no errors, but jsut dont show up. So what do I have to do to get a BSP working? or what alternatives do I have without spending money
