Hi everyone,

I am thinking of buying either FPS Creator, or 3D Game Maker, but i need some advice.

1 - I want to make a game like Unreal Tournament, what would be the best software for this?

2 - In FPS Creator, can i use my own models? (In .mdl format)

3 - In 3D Game Maker, can i use my own models? (In .mdl format)

Thanks.

Neither, FPSC would seriously kill the 3DGM, (as everyone here will agree, that's not worth the money)...
You need a coding engine to make something like that...

No, they must be .X.......

See question 2.....

I do recommend you get FPSC, as it has waay more entertainment in it than a game and is also cheaper than most games, but you won't make the next Halo/Half-Life/Bioshock?other awesome fps game of choice....

The 3DGM is widely accepted as the sort of thing 10 year olds use to make free games for your mates, it's no where near the quality of a commercial engine due to it's ease of use...

Hope I helped...

isnt .mdl half life's format?

if so, you cant use them in any game, without being sued

Microsoft isnt evil, they just make really crappy operating systems -- Linus torvalds

I'd download the FPSC demo, and then try DB.

@ Dowson

I'd only use DB Pro if you can program, FPS Creator is a great program fr those who can't, as it's simple and easy to use...

Should i use DB, i have downloaded that, and it looks very hard.

3D Game Maker will never make any competent FPS......

DarkBasic can make you an excellent, commercial quality game, but you'll have to learn to program with it.....

FPS Creator is where to go, the games are good enough to be fun and detailed, but requires near-zero programming,(any programming is if you want to make custom AI).....

Ahh, i see, so the better FPS game will be with DarkBasic, but its harder to use, and FPS Creator, is easy to use and doesnt make as good games?

Yes but you would have to make them yourself, FPSC is very open with custom content so really it doesn't have much limitations in that area.

So you would 100% say FPSC, beacause all the games i have seen on Youtube, have just been the same, but the only differance has been the model packs.

Sorry to keep on asking, but i want to be 100% sure.
