ok, so normally I'd use 3ds but with the latest 4.1 upgrade, it crashes when I use 3ds, so I've been using x (by the way my bones still don't work right see my post in 3d for that) any way, instead of erasing the transparency it draws the backdrop color, if I turn off the backdrop its even worse.

Ugh, I'm used SET OBJECT, x,flag, flag, flag and that didn't even work period it didn't erase anything. THen I used SET OBJECT TRANSPARENCY,X,flag and it started doing this weird artifacting. Is there a step I'm missing? Mipmapping anything, a little help guys! LOL

so what format do you use for your texture?
i recommend using png with transparency. i had the same problem and i had do an extra object for those parts, which were transparent. no good solution, but worked for me.

or perhaps give kevils transparency a try. it's here:
