Hi,
Sorry if this question has been answered before, I have just got FPSC X10 (still awaiting DX10 rig) and I have a game design that I want to implement but in the design the player needs to move to and fro levels is this possible? or does FPSC just move from one level to another and not allow moving backwards to a previous level.

Many thanks

Thats with using a Mod, not the Retail version and will not work with V1.08's additions and speed raises.

Also, he can't use my mod since he wants it for FPSCX10 and my mod is for FPSC Classic.

...nope, really possible.

I suppose you could simulate that to some degree, by creating all the levels on one map grid, and using teleportation to move the player from level to level...

Seth:

Wouldn't that lag horribly, though? I mean, trying to cram all your levels into a single level is just asking way too much of your PC at the point FPSC is at right now.

Thanks for the swift replies, I thought it may be an issue.

Plystire - Are you thinking about converting your mod for DX10 in the future? as this would be used I think regarding mission based scenarios with a central hub (level) that you choose an unlocked mission (another level).

Looks like I will have to re-think my game design to only allow level progression - ho hum!

Wish I could, but even if the source code to it was open, I would still need to have DBPX10 in order to compile it.

And since they never planned releasing DBPX10 that will be a bit of a problem

Yes, yes it would.

I think they shoud release an update for DBP, that would allow you the option of compiling for DX10 or DX9. Now THAT would be an awesome update!

Agree'd, however I suggest they fix it up first, and make some speed improvements... As Blitz basic, heck, Play Basic is faster then DBP.

Yup, they sure are. However, Blitz Basic can't do so well in terms of 3D, you gotta use Blitz3D.

I don't have any huge quarrels with DBP, just a few minor things here and there... although, it does get on my nerves when I run into a bug where the blame rests with DBP itself. (*ahem* Fog, Camera Clipping, Shaders)

I always forget there is a 3D version of it which has nothing to do with BlitzBasic...
