there isn't any.
There are just open source 3D Engines, but to use them you need to be able to programm in VC++

Go to the downloads section and download the trial version of DBPro. If you like it then buy it. It all depends on how much time you want to invest. If your a total newbie I would recommend DBPro and the Beginner's Guide to DarkBASIC book, but remember you will have to spend allot of time getting to grips with the language but its ultimately rewarding x-d

Yeah, and VC++ would cost you a bomb too.

I'm sure you don't *have* to "program in vc++". Get yourself crystal space and I bet g++ would work fine.

There are plenty of engines out there that don't need Visual C++.

However, if you are asking this question, I have to assume that you are a beginner, and I really wouldn't suggest trying to use them until you (a) know what you are doing, and (b) know C++ to a relatively high level.

gamemaker(free) can be found at

http://www.cs.uu.nl/people/markov/gmaker/index.html

Or try game-editor(also free) at

Hope this helps.

Why don't you download Allegro from [href]www.allegro.cc[/href] and download DJGPP from http://www.delorie.com/djgpp.

Both the compiler and games programming library are free, and extremely powerful for games development.

Try my game, using both from my site, and no, this aint an advertisement, it's free too

MSI/AMD Athlon 1300, 256Mb, 60GbHD, SoundBlaster Live!, GeForce 4 MX440-64Mb, Win2K, DX9, DarkBASIC Pro(PUv4.1)

Or you could use DevC++ as the compiler as it is also free...

I think he has a point here. I reckon I could just about make use of a 3D Engine now in C++, and that's after learning the wretched language for about 4 years (haven't touched it since I left uni )
