Can anyone else confirm that the following crashes their program :

656 works okay, but not 657 upwards... Its the vertical bar it doesn't like for some reason... Its the un-broken line that should be used too (not the one that appears in this display - and it seems to be the cause of the crashing).

Good news everyone! I really am THAT good...

It crashes for me if I replace the bar with a comma.

It's the LEFT$ that is causing the problem for some reason - change the 'print' to 'x$=' and you'll see.

Best to email Lee I think.

i think they should give us the character type as well as the string, that was we could make strings upto 65,5535 large (unless they've upped the array sizes too)

but then again i don't expect to be using strings that large, i think if i keep to what i know about the value setups then atleast i'll know it'll work find and i have a big margin of error if i need it

Ah, you can create a string of over 65535 characters, as long as the | character isn't included (otherwise you cant use the string manipulation commands). It affects the right$ and mid$ commands too...
