Having been on this site for a few years now and reading some of the posts, I realise that most of you guys have very little to spend on media for your games.

What I would like to do is offer my complete collection of WW2 models at a vastly reduced price of $25 for a short period. Now I cannot place this collection on sites such as Turbosquid as price undercutting is very much frowned upon among artists and simply not possible on others such as 3DStudio, believe it or not the artist does not always control the price. So if you get in touch via e-mail first. Payment via paypal only.

This Pack Includes

Jesus Christ mate, you really need to up the price! That's less than a dollar for each model, and those models are most certainly worth more than a dollar!

Xenocythe: Normally I sell these models from $10 to $17.50 each. I am feeling a little generous today and will only be offering this for a very short period to give some of the guys who dont have a lot of money the opportunity to have them.I will probably only sell another 3 to 4 then stop.

A guy can only be expected to rip himself off for so long I think it was entirely generous of Frap to offer them for that cheap to anyone, and I'm sure whoever got hold of the deal is very satisfied

Really sorry Reality Forgotten but when I decided to do this I limited the amount to 10. I was totally suprised about the reponse myself and may consider doing it again. For obvious reason I had to limit the numbers,I just wanted to give some guys the opportunity to get held of some models they wouldnt normally get.

Selling models that you more than likely put 20+ hours of work into a pop for less than $1.00 a model is more generous than I could ever be. No ragging on this guy, he could have very likely made a much larger profit margin than he did, seeing as all those models would go for about $20.00 or so if sold alone on turbosquid.

Once again posts are being misread. It's grand isn't it?

To everyone else who seem to have horse blinds on when reading my posts, No one said it was not awesome of Fraps to do what he did. I was commenting on the amount of time he had the sale going. It wasn't even going for 12 hrs. What type of business sense does that make? absolutely none.

No, he could not sell these for more. I'm explaining below.

Fraps,

do you have any screen shots of how these show in a few different engines? Are any of the control surfaces rigged for animation? Are any of the control surfaces even separate so they can be rigged for animation? Is there landing gear? Is it rigged or can it be rigged for animation? are there different texture maps, ones that show the model how it was in WWII, ones that show different stages of damage? Are there HUD views for each of the aircraft and vehicles?

If you answered NO to more than 75% of these than what you have provided us is static props and nothing more. And with nothing show how these model look in DBPro I am not inclined to touch these with a 200 ft stick.

best,
Dave

you can please some of the people some of time.

Unfortunatly I no longer have the time to program anymore so I do not have not seen the models in various game engines as such, I also do not have time to check in every model in every game engine, I dont know of any other modeller thats does. We adhere to general rules that comply with most game engines. If anyone does find a problem with a model I will be more than happy to help and adjust where required.

If you had followed the link I gave you would have been able to check on the technical details for each model. All props are rigged and some have seperate limbs for control surfaces.

To keep the poly count down they do not include an interior detailed cockpit but do have a seat and a instrument panel, These are not highly detailed as this would more efficiently be done with a seperate model, though with technical advances this is beginning to change with the more advanced graphics cards etc.

As at least 50% of the build time is taken up by producing the textures I only supply the one texture, As this is a seperate file you would be able to include damage yourself should you need to.

I have only recently been adding animated undercarridge and due to the additional time it takes to make, animate and texture the price for these models will be considerably more than I usually charge.

I have sold more than a few models in my 3 years that I have been doing this and have never had a complaint yet.

So you are complaining that the sale did not last long enough when I had mentioned that it was for a limited time only, I had tried to get in touch via MSN to offer you the models at the reduced price, Consider this offer retracted.

To have a fully animated model with undercarridge, flight surfaces detailed interior and various textures to indicate damage and to have them rendered in most game engines would take at least a month full time for any artist and is going to cost a damned sight more than $20. Models with at least 75% of these features cost well inexcess of $100.

I do apologise for this offer to upset you in some way You win some and loose some.
