Hi,
Ive got a question about adding more buttons to my menu (or how).
Id like to give my title page more buttons, but can this be done.
And if so, how can this be done.

Do I just modify the scripts to add more buttons. Its not much of a menu now, there are just two buttons and the title. Id like to add more buttons to save and load a new game (that sorta thing).
Thanks.

With, I think, v1.03 and higher, you can save your game, and in the pause menu, there's a button that says 'Resume Game' or something like that.

You should already have save and load buttons unless you are using the demo version. You can add all the buttons you want to the menu. Just create the button images and place them in the folder with the other buttons. Then change the fpe to show them as it's already showing the others. It's going to take some time and research on your part to find where everything is located and how it is shown on the screen.

This is not really an end-user thing however, as you will find that the buttons won't do much unless you change the source code to recognize and execute the commands.

Best.

Thanks for your reply. "I thought a person had to do this". Im very experienced with programming of all types, just not with FPSC.

I understand (as one does) about making new buttons say using GIMP, and then adding to the fpe code that is already there.

Regarding your quote above, are you refering to the main FPS Creator code in the game engine?

You can add buttons for commands that already exist and we have control over with the scripting language (which is pretty much what we already have) but to add buttons for functions which we currently don't have scripting control over, you will need to get into the engine source.

Best.
