Quote: "when you were in Nam' did they still have problems with the M16 not be issued cleaning kits"
The unit I was in and also the units I knew of didn't have any problem. Keeping the weapon clean was extremely important. Spent a lot of time doing that. Maybe there was a problem early on because they were brand new weapons. In fact, when I went through training in the states, we only had M14s as all the 16s were shipped off to 'Nam. I didn't even touch an M16 till I got to 'Nam.

This is pretty much how we viewed those weapons. When we took a short course on the M16 upon arrival in 'Nam, the instructors also had shown us some of the differences between the AK-47 and the M16. One of the cool things about the M16 is that the kick-back was so slight that you could, with practice, shoot from the hip (if need be) fairly accurately. Try that with an AK-47.
OK, I don't think I will answer any more questions
as I believe that this is probably off topic. I guess we should be talking about our favorite weapons used in game play and I never really expressed my own opinion. My philosophy with game play is that it should be challenging. I allow different weapons for different stages of the game. Because we can't make the player drop their weapon, I make sure that ammo is limited and that they will run out of ammo for a particular weapon and then have to find another weapon for the next stage of play within the level. This is only my opinion and the way I create my games. So, when it comes right down to it, I probably don't have a "favorite" weapon as such.
You can't slap me because I have glasses on.
