Hey, i was thinking about using ply`s mod to make a scoring system in my game (similar to the campaign scoring in halo 3).With bonuses, penalties etc. tallied at the end of the level(the loader for the next level and the end game) I was wondering, should I intergrate the scoring into the main game OR should I make it a special game mode(like halo 3)?

I believe you should integrate the scoring system into the main game.

Here is more information on campaign scoring.

I believe with a little bit of tweaking your setuplevel.fpi file (specifically, the main menu part). you should be able to show a HUD that says "Campaign" and another for "Campaign Score". In your script, you'd be able to set a flag variable that you declare and check it in game for whether or not to bother with score tallying and whatnot.

Good luck!
