When I simply do a COPY BITMAP (a small bitmap) to the screen, the sprites that are already on the screen get displayed on top of the bitmap if they're within the area of the bitmap. Is there a way to make
the sprites appear behind the bitmap? I'm not doing anything 3d, just 2d. I've tried DRAW SPRITES FIRST before I do the COPY BITMAP, but my sprites disappear completely, even if they're outside the area or partially inside the area of the bitmap. So, what's a good way to control the sprites so that they're partially behind the bitmap when they're supposed to be, and completely behind the bitmap when they're supposed to be, and completely visible when they're supposed to be? Thanks.

I've tried that before. My main problem is with sprites that are supposedly partially covered by the bitmap, but they aren't. Depending on what I try, they're either completely behind or completely on top.
