Texture looks messed up, maybe improve on it?

The gun looks great, lee1972. Reminds me of an M16 on steriods.

it's a cardboard cut out, it has no real shape to it and the texture is stretched over it.. This needs a lot of work..

Then I must be a comedian too! Nice first attempt, but it a cardboard cutout. Keep working on it. By the title, you've got till 2012 to finish it.

Best.

of course , it needn't you tell anybody. he is funny and you are funny, just because it is only a game. it is not a school to teach you how to texture.maybe you can make best things,so what , do you really think you are the teacher here.you come here for game or for being a teacher? you have said these words"cutboard cutout..." for ...many many times. you like do that? what do you think you are?use your head.

lee1972,

No need to be defensive. If you post your work here, people will tell you what they think of it. Some take the comments and use them to improve.

Best.

"what they think" and constructive criticism are 2 different things.

Their is no point in helping a non FPSC Ready model. When a Mod realizes that there isn't a FPSC ready pic they will lock or delete this thread.

For help with Non FPSC models look else where.

lee cardboard models do rarely work, but i started that way to, doing cardboards that is, in time u will find the depths not to be satisfying for you, and that will attract the need to add more depths into your models..

Your on the right road.

Okay, let's stop the quote fight before it escalates into a quote war.

Lee, this is the risk you took by throwing this model out here; having people critique your work. Now you also shoudla known that posting a non-FPSC ready model is a no-no.

The model looks good and seems to have potential, but the texture (as many people have stated) looks a bit stretched. Though I'm still perplexed at what you mean by a cardboard cut-out (I assume it has something to do with...textures?).

My two cents,

...normally, I make it a point to find the good in an offering.

To be truthful, I am struggling with this one. This model needs a
tremedous amount of work, in every category.

Keep practicing, and eventually your skills will yield the kind of models
that others will appreciate, and you will be proud to put on display...

I have to agree with this and most of what was said afterward.
These people aren't trying to flame you. They are just being honest.
They didn't have to post here and give you their opinion but they did.
Now if you post a picture of something that you made you should expect people to comment on it.
Nobody is personally attacking you or trying to hurt your feelings. They are just trying to help.
Believe me...I hear stuff when I post stuff.Remember what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.learn from it and do better next time.

I can say one good thing about this weapon. You made it yourself.
You didn't rip off anybody or their stuff to do it and you actually did make the effort to make this.
For that alone you deserve some credit.
If you listen to what was said to you and you practice your modeling skills will get better.
I have managed to go from making really crappy models to just making crappy ones...so anybody can improve with practice.
And do try not to be sensitive about what people post or take it personally.
They are just trying to give you a hand.
And you need an FPSC ready screenshot for this thread to remain open...not trying to rain any more on your bad day...it's just the rules.

RIP Floating Skull unknown-2007 we will miss you in FPSC x10

I actually like this. I'm waiting eagerly for the download.
Texture could still use some work.

looks like a modified pulse rifle from the alien series with a strange black and white striped texture applied to it.

That comment was uncalled for.I try to be fair and treat people equally.I'm not perfect and neither are you.
It is not uncommon to give people time to post screenshots.I was just getting ready to lock ths but since you brought it up now he has until sometime tomorrow to post screenies (unless another mod locks it first).
I don't know if you have a job but if you do you will notice I don't tell you how to do it.So don't tell me how to do mine.
However I think it might be fun to pick a member at random and force them to be a guest mod for a day...it's a whole other story from this side of the fence.

BTW...

"fair and treat people equally" Well if thats fact then why was mine deleted without warning or notice to post a FPSC Ready pic?

Just saying to be fair you should do the same thing with every post that is like this one or like mine was. Delete it or give a warning. Other wise it gives mixed messages and yes it was "called for".
