Oh my god, triple post... whatever.
The gloves and the shoulderpads are done(they really gave me issues, the gloves took me like 2 days to even figure out a good way to make and the shoulderpads required so much tweaking it's not even funny), sorry no images yet, I would like to post renders when the entire armor is done and uvmappable, oh and I completely scrapped the sci-fi design(might make the weapon somewhat sci-fi though, I don't know) so I erased the entire weapon, saved a huge amount of polygons, and instead just mirrored the mesh over so it now has two hands.
The mesh is about 3k tris at the moment, with the gloves and the shoulder pads, I'm aiming anywhere in between 4k - 6k tris depending on how deep the rest of the armor and the weapon is going to be.

And I currently feel like I suck by just seeing that Fletcher dominance war entry... One day I'll do stuff like that... One day ...

I'm going to retract my previous statement and at the same time, make a quadruple post.
Here are some renders of what I have done so far, why am I posting this? Because I need some advice. what would fit good for the legs? Should I make some sort of cloth thing or more armor-ish I don't really know so yeah... Also the wireframe got somewhat messed up at the belt in the render, that because I have some overlapping faces there(which I probably will remove soon). So yeah.

I did a draw over of how Id picture your character to be... Kind of went a little crazy, cant really tell its a drawover any more .

Essentially added fat, fixed his feet (to me the current feet look like they wouldn't be able to support such a large character, they're very narrow and look wobbly. I increased their base giving him more structure), and worked with a woods / forest - ogre type feel. Do with it what you want.

You draw too good, stop it That was actually the way I always thought it to look, but I never really got that look, now when I have a proper reference it will be easier, also, the little skirt thingy I tried to do before and I failed... I just never got the cloth feel of the planes, I don't get it, any good way to make it anyways?

Thanks for the help mate, will help a lot =)

Doing clothes and tathers that hang down like that is pretty much all up to the texture. The geomtry is usually 2 or 3 plains, with each edge ring rotated a bit on the y axis to give it dimension so you can see it from all angles. When you texture it, don't fill the entire UV, you need to use alpha mapping and draw something that looks smoother than the 3 polygons, with tattered edges.

)The texture was rushed, Im saying the shape and technique used is good, not the texture .)

FINALLY, an update, yes I haven't done a bit of work the past weeks or whatever, guess why? I have been playing overly much GTA IV ( Yes the game is awesome, don't get me started ) so yeah

I have done SOME work on the model (not much =P) and might aswell post some pics up here, I made him fat (which isn\'t that clearly visible in the renders but he is fat) and some new armor pieces, I even got the skirt thingy to look reasonably good. Now I did try and make the feet from an old idea I had, I made them after about half an hour or so and it looked like a piece of raped horse-sh*t. So I shall make a new foot when I can drag my butt away from GTA ^^

And sorry, but these are again no lightning low sampling ambient occlusion renders, I just didn\'t have the time to render it better when I rendered them so deal with it
