Hi,

Does anybody has any cool tool that allows me to experiment with DBpro particle effect easily, i.e. I can tweak the particle properties and see the resulting effects. I know I can code this myself, but I remember I saw it somewhere.... but I forgot.

I made one when DBPro first came out - it even exports to .dba code and was very wel accepted (mainly due to the fact it came out 2 days after DBP's launch).

There are also many presets, for effects such are fire.

True, everyone uses whatever they want but I found it amusing because Microsoft's standard is:

Major.Minor.Revision

Sweet you guyz!

Oh... BTW, is the particles function,

MAKE SNOW PARTICLE, and
MAKE FIRE PARTICLES

in DBpro actually work? I tried to call this functions but neither of them seems to work. I thought it suppose to be a preset particle effects so that I don't have to tweak the parameters like, velocity, gravity, etc. manually to create the effect.

Thanks!

Well... I did actually. What I did is:

1. Load the particles texture.
2. Call MAKE FIRE PARTICLES with the texture loaded in step #1
3. Position my camera slighly behind the particle position.
4. Enter the DO...SYNC...LOOP

But nothing show up!

IT works fine with me. Try not positioning the camera, and see if the autocam gives you a view.

I found with P2-P4 that particles did not show when textured with an existing image.

o_O Hrmmm... remember when you start my particle program the default texture is black... so you need to set the radius to like 200 to see it... it should apear red... Or you could just change the color... or the image... hehe... I included a lot of sample images for ya...

Thanks Puffy, your program looks great. But I still don't really know how to use though. I found that there are two EXE file, MENU and the MAIN one. I assumed that your program is using the MENU.EXE to initiate the MAIN.EXE, and pass whatever parameter set in the menu to the main program by saving into file. But somehow, I can't get it work.

1. Will the MENU.EXE will open the MAIN.EXE automatically? Right now I need to run both of them manually.

2. Whenever I change the value in the menu, it doesn't shown in the viewer.

Any help, Puffy?
Thanks!

o_O Wahhhhh???? I know about that bug... but DBPro won't let other programs open its exes without makeing them unable to read files... I'm making a new DLL which you can create standard windows with (I know someone made one but it was kind of limited....)

Step #1: Open Menu.exe
Step #2: Open System/Particles.exe

Thats all there is too it... the default texture is black... so goto image and change it to white or something... heh ...
