ok... they both say OC 512MB PCIe 2.0 Graphics Card
yet the GT is £45 ($90) cheaper than the GTS

im intrested in buying because the 9600 is only £10 ($20) cheaper
How does the performance vary if at all?

Thanks,
Ocho

The GTS is a lot better, it's worth the extra money, it uses a much better chipset than the GT.

The GT has a new core type with beats the pants off the GTS. The GT is basically a single slot GTS. Go with the 8800GT, you won't be sorry.

And Veron, what you said about the 8600 series is true, but it doesn't apply to the 8800 league.

9600GT and 8800GT are the best out there if you're low on cash.

Are you dumb or some thing he clearly said 8800GT and 8800GTS both of them being 512MB both of them are based on the G92 core the 8800GT has 112 pipes where the 8800GTS has 128 pipes.

However the older G80 GTS is slower than the the new G92 GT.The old GTS only comes in 320MB and 640MB.

Get your facts straight before you let someone buy the wrong stuff.

And for any else reading this don't even think about the 9600GT the card still suxs is not worth the money...period.It's the 8600GT with more memory the G92 core and instead of 128bit bus a 256bit bus....

And yeah the 8800GTS 512mb does beat the 8800GT 512mb

Anyway, I was unaware new GTS's came out. I have this thing I call "Life."

Just looked up the new GTS's benchmarks, the performance boost it gives, isn't worth 90 more bucks.

Wow, no way! Thats a really lame excuse. And it insinuates people that "have a life" stupid.

Nothing can run Cryis on very high perfectly yet. But high, yes. And you'll need a smokin' PC to go along with it. try plugging that into a white-box PC and it won't even work

Get the 8800GTS 512MB. I just bought myself an MSI one, not OC'd, but still, it works great. It does not even cost that much more than the GT anymore (on newegg at least, the GTS is about 20-30 USD more than the GT). I like the fact that the GTS has more shaders (128 vs. 112), and I'd rather have that extra performance for a bit extra money rather than something that is more stripped down. I was just playing Crysis a few minutes ago, everything on Very High, and I had no lag whatsoever.
