For a 2d game, like metal slug, which should I use. Playbasic or Darkbasic?

((Also, can playbasic do simple 3d sequences?))

Play Basic is mostly for 2d and DarkBASICPRO is a mix of 3d and 2d but it doesn't fully support 2d

Tip Of The Day!: a new rouge anti-virus has risen in 2008 called xpantivirus 2008 don't download this. Please help spread the word.

I work mostly in 2d in DBP. DBP is somewhat lacking in 2d features though, and its sprites can be somewhat of a resource hog. There's also quite a bit of bugs in the 2d as well :-\

I was going to start out this post defending 2d in DBP, but really.. its pretty bad! Ive found a way to manage though. It just takes some creativity and work-arounds.

Go with playbasic. I should on my next game :-p

Is a commercial game possible with it?

Can a metal slug type game be made with it?
