Have you heard of Tristan Craft and the Lost City? Ever think of making a story similar to it?
If you've thought up a good idea for a level you'd want in Tristan Craft, then post it on the Gunn3r Games forums. You'll need a story to accompany it, in order for it to be counted. If your level is picked, you may see your level in the final game! The winner of this competition will receive a free copy of the game, but a TGC Model Pack as well. This will help us decide a final level layout, as we already have a basic one, but it would be nice
to get a final one.

This competition will last until April 30.

More details would be nice. What is Tristan Craft and the Lost City? Are we supposed to use any speciel entities or segments etc.?

This contest is not a level design contest, but a level theory. What you basically do is create a story for a level. Tristan Craft and the Lost City can be found here: http://gunn3rgames.net/forum/index.php?topic=9

SAMPLE:

Level: Discovery of Atlantis
Level Details: Have Tristan go along the docks of Atlantis as he works his way towards the center of the city.
Level Story: Immediately after discovering Atlantis, Tristan heads for the old docks, which have been corroded and destroyed by thousands of years of rot. As Tristan walks along the docks, he sees broken bits of pottery left over, indicating a civilization was once here. He continues along the docks until he reaches the dockhouse, where he discovers a coinpurse once held by the man in charge of the docks. Tristan empties the coinpurse to find 3 different types of coins. Tristan heads out, only guided by the light of the eternal burning fires around him.

Can I base it on the level AFTER this one:

Quote: "Level: Discovery of Atlantis
Level Details: Have Tristan go along the docks of Atlantis as he works his way towards the center of the city.
Level Story: Immediately after discovering Atlantis, Tristan heads for the old docks, which have been corroded and destroyed by thousands of years of rot. As Tristan walks along the docks, he sees broken bits of pottery left over, indicating a civilization was once here. Tristan empties the coinpurse to find 3 different types of coins. Tristan heads out, only guided by the light of the eternal burning fires around him."

??? I have a good one for the next level after this.

LEVEL NAME: vertigo

LEVEL DETAILS: an atlantean flashback.

STORY: tristan, being the cautious reporter that he is, creeps into a large, sprawling chamber with an entryway similar to the acropolis at the far end. the statue of the guardian deity seems to be peering into tristan's very soul from the top of his perch above the acropolis. at that moment, tristan feels a sharp pain in his head, then light headed, and is transported to a faraway dreamscape...

from this point foreward, tristan is reliving the events leading up to the sinking of atlantis. strangely, he watches life go on and has a strange case of deja vu. a man and woman fight, then separate. the woman looks like tristan's ex-wife. poseidon's minions appear in the city, from which tristan must escape (he is unarmed). after much chase, tristan watches from the roof of the acropolis as the waves first flood atlantis, then rise above his head...

tristan awakes, and now blessed with the understanding of the destruction of atlantis, and is permitted to enter the acropolis, where a complex mechanism lies in a labarynth beneath that could raise atlantis. <end>

I'm not sure. There are characters that would work from MP18, but there are others that are needed custom.

You never know... Your entry was pretty strong as well. I'm going to shorten this competition by one month, as I want to get started on TC and not want to have to change a level when I'm halfway through the game.

Thank guys. I didn't say I was giving up though. I just was saying that it looks like yeroc was going to be a challenge. I really liked your's yeroc.

Thanks for taking a month off the comp gunn3r.

I guess I should show mine here too :

Level Name: A new Discovery

Level Details: Have Tristan continue walking down the docks and come up to a door where it shows a cinematic clip showing him examining the door and seeing three small indents in the door.

Level Story: As Tristan walks down the docks (Up and down maybe) and it seems the only way to get out of the docks to the center of the city is to go through this door. But it seems that it has three small indents in the center of the door. It seems like the exact size of the coins you just picked up in the dock house. Tristan puts the three coins in the three indents in the door, and you hear bolts rotating inside the door. The door opens and you realize that the coins aren’t for currency, they’re keys. But, the keys are now lost in the door. You continue down the corridors to the center of the city.

This could add a good gameplay feature or something. Having the players explore the city more for keys, when what they’re really heading for is a cinematic or something that shows more of the Dark Secrets that lead to the city being under the ocean.
