I just sat down at my computer and made some random model, and realized that I don't know how to texture. I have PAINT.net, and am wondering if there's any fancy thing you must do to get a working texture, and also I don't know how to get the texture on the model. Can I get a simple walk-through? BTW I have Google Sketchup for the modeling, and can get any other free program if it would be easier.

For the free program, try Anim8or. For the texturing, don't know anything about it myself!

Yea, you have to UV map first. I recommend UV mapper classic for this. Google it. What you also wanna do is export your file to an obj file. then import it into UV mapper. Then read a UV mapping tut. Then texture it. I'd help more if you were more specific..

Well I'll do all of this stuff first, but my internet is dying.
