Have you tried upgrading your graphics card drivers (& which graphics card do you have?)

I got the latest detonator drivers yesterday, and suddenly everything runs better and lots of graphical glitches I saw in games have vanished.

The new detonators are almost better than sex. Scouts honour.

for DXDiag

Click the START button, go to RUN, type in "dxdiag" (without the quotes) and click OK.

Go to the Direct 3D page, run the Direct3D tests and see if there are any error messages at the bottom of the screen.

As you have an ATI card, you will need to get driver updates from ATI's website > www.ati.com and click on the driver tab. Go through the menus until you are in the right area for your card, then download the "Display Driver" (the important bit) and the "ATI Control Panel"
