Enough is enough!
Can I legitimately expect another release of DarkGDK.NET at some reasonable point in time, or should I pick up my cards and go somewhere else?

Why not prototype your game in DBPro or GDK while you're waiting?

or are you waiting for GDK.Net so you can use a particular language?

@thierry - you are not the only who is waiting. But I think that the difference betweem GDK.NET you maybe have now and the new version is not so big.

@thierry - Q; have you purchased gdk.net.
if no. then i belive that the deveolpers dont owe you anything. and being programmers you know things dont happen overnight it can only be ready when its ready.

leaving now would be silly since its very close to being released.

but then again what does that mean - "leaving"? You're free to experiment with other stuff as you wish, and check back now and again. Then redecide after the new release is out and youve checked that out too. It sounds as if you go off and try some other alternatives someone will lock the door here. You're not burning any bridges by trying other things. But, that said, the new release is near so you might wanna stick it out a bit longer. I too hate how everything is backseated for fpsc in general, but in this case its really the docs holding up the release. I know for a fact apex is working day and night on it. He doesnt even join irc anymore, except occassionally.

Fine. I'll wait, then.
@Kistech: I need GDK.Net because I use VB Express and I'm frustrated because the present version's picking routines don't work so well as Paul himself freely admits. This explains my impatience, Black Sprite.
@CattleRustler: I've tried Irrlicht but the documentation for the .NET wrapper is virtually non-existent. Also, Irrlicht's picking routines work fine but otherwise I've been stopped by a very serious and basic bug.
So, I guess that I'll have to be patient.

A little off topic but, what IRC channel/address/group/thingy-ma-jig do you guys go onto. I have never used IRC..ever, although I know what it is etc.

Much good work is lost for the lack of a little more.

Stop whining! it's only one man working on .NET, so expect some sort of delay!

thierry, try TrueVision, although the documentation for 6.5 is non-existant, they provide good docs for the previous version, so it's not too difficult to get started.
