Is this a caricaturization? Chin looks a bit pointy, even if it is. Like you've said, ears are a bit off, but very solid for 5 hours Could we perhaps see the uncolored version? Is there any surface detail?

I went through a few motions when i was making it, i had this idea in my head for a caricature but i kept phasing between the two ideas when making it, as its just a quick character sketch i won't be developing it further.
There is some surface detail, using some alphas i roughly sketched in some pores, what i'm most proud of is the lips.

I think what is on the agenda next, is some speed ear modelling.

Hi,

looks very cool. Zbrush seems to be really powerful if you know how to control it.

One question: What was your starting point? A simple head, a sphere, modelled by you?

I use a generic head model in max, which is then tesselated and then turbosmoothed. This method creates a nice dense mesh for Zbrush to work with, as well as retaining the UV's.

The great thing about ZBrush is that if you know how to draw/sculpt, you will be fine with it, the only thing that you need to learn is where all the tools are situated. Its amazing in the fact that you can just sit down for a couple of hours without concept art and still create something that looks good. Its offered a lot of fun in modelling that i haven't felt since i first started learning 3dsmax (at version 4).

Yes, the lips are very much the part that shines the most in this piece, in my opinion I use Mudbox rather than ZBrush, primarily because thats what my school uses Do you have an Intuos3 Wacom? If not... oh man they help so much for sculpting...

I'm stuck on a volito2 at the moment, since i had to fork out for a new car i've been struggling for money, its next on my wanted list though...

I only got a small 5 minute chance to mess with mudbox at the training centre where i was teaching, i can't say i was overly impressed, but i didn't really get time to fully look around the program, i'm way too set in my ways to switch over now anyway.
