I would like to officially announce Weapon Dezigner, the ultimate successor to Weapon Creator.

This is still a concept, but if things began rolling under the typical Codemaster-eqsue development cycle, a working beta should be ready within 3 years, or so.

Weapon Dezsigner builds upon the wildly successful weapon importer Weapon Creator, by adding a full suite of weapon designing tools.

WorkFlow:

Sketch a drawing of your gun, import into WDz, and outline it with the SketchZ module of WDz.
Extrude the outline in the Extruder, and bevel the edges. (Essentially, this means, add depth and curves to your weapon.)
Place zones for different functions and assemblies on the weapon.
Watch as your weapon is automagically textured by a specially developed AI, based on the pre-provided zone data.
Export your Weapon, ready for animation or play.

I said it's a concept. It currently exists only in my mind, and in several demo programs. Nothing worthy of youtube yet.

(I don't think I want to see your puppie anyway... )

Looks simple enough to use. When do you hope to get some working shots ready by?

Would you be able to texture it yourself in addition to let the tool texture it?

If I had a 3-D printer, could this program produce real working weapons for me?

Why don't you have one? Everyone does... Mine is out of toner. I need to replace it soon, otherwise my warranty is void.

Anyway, this would help out immensely if this is real. I can't model very well, so this would be a great tool to use.

It's threads like this and that new one Plystire made that just make me hate April 1st lol. But if this is real, right on! This would be very handy to have.
