Hi there!
The following is from a very early posting in this section under the heading
How To Know if Your Games Ready For A W.I.P Post .
Quote: "Screenshots
Do you have any screen shots of your game, these can be obtained pretty easily, just press Prt Scrn (to the left of F12) go to Paint, then Edit>Paste, and save your image, then go to http://www.photobucket.com or any other hosting site and follow the available instructions. Remember pictures speak a thousand words, and alot of people will find it easier to judge your game if you've got a couple of pictures of what it looks like in action.
NOTE:: It's advisable to resize your screenshots to make a reasonable size, the last thing people want (especially people on 56k) is to have to wait ages for a picture to load, by that time they may have got board and gone to look at someone elses game, I find 640x480 is a reasonable size."
A bit long-winded don't you think?
Here is a very simple method which I use and it is
FREE
The programme is called
Gadwin PrintScreen
Download and install the latest version of Gadwin PrintScreen from
http://www.gadwin.com/download/.
You are required to configure Gadwin PrintScreen in order for it to produce the result you wish.
Right click on the Gadwin PrintScreen icon and select Properties ...
In the drop-down Dialogue box:
1: Click on the Preferences tab
Alongside Hot key: select Print Screen (usually preset) from the many options available and check the boxes Notify end of capture and Preview the captured image. Optionally check boxes Show splash on startup and Run at Windows startup
2: Click on Source tab
Click Full Screen and check box Capture Mouse Cursor
3: Click on the Destination tab
Check the boxes Copy captured area to Clipboard and Copy captured area to File and Automatic naming
Alongside File name: select Screen Shot
In Capture Directory: enter the details of where you want the image to appear.
4: Click on the Image tab
In the Type of Image select from the various options available
When complete, click
OK.
When a screenshot is required simply press the PrtScr key, click the Continue Output button on the resulting window and there you have it ... a 640x480 image.
Simple as that ... one key press and a mouseclick.
