FPSC X9 cannot support multi-thread.

I'm not sure about FPSC X10, because I'm not sure if DBPX10 is capable of setting up threading routines.

I have a dual-core CPU and when I have FPSC X9 make a huge level... one of the cores is completely used up by FPSC, but the other core wasn't being used at all.

That would suck.I don't feel so bad now about being one of those cavemen with only a single core processor.

RIP Floating Skull unknown-2007 we will miss you in FPSC x10

It's not so bad.

At least all the other applications I have running can still do stuff without any problems while my ginormous level is being created.

Yeah, but those who have dual and quad cores can have level lightmapping builded faster right ?

Uhhhhhh, not from my experience, no. But then again, I don't have a single-core CPU to compare it against.

All I know is that one of my cores is ALWAYS free when FPSC is building a level.

I hope this is something that can be addressed in the future. If not, FPSC games will be hard pushed to come anywhere close to the quality people expect to see.

From the X10 site...

"Takes advantage of Dual Core and Quad Core CPU technology "

X9 does not use more than one CPU or Core.

Best.

But it does in lightmapping building as we saw in the YouTube link and also on FPSC homepage.

One of the most important changes is that we've completely replaced the old light-mapping system with our new Dark Lights technology. This gives much faster light mapping speeds, and much better end results than before. The version of Dark Lights now built into FPS Creator fully supports both dual and quad core processors. This means if your CPU allows, you can lightmap your scenes significantly faster. Our test results show dual core systems mapping scenes at up to 70% quicker than single core. The bigger the game scene, the larger the speed increase was.

Welp, then it must be an inherent feature of DarkLights, because there's nothing in DBP about utilizing more than one core. (None of my DBP apps have ever used them, anyway)
