I am looking to make a great looking 3D world with navigation for an educational project.

1. 3D world. what is the best format / method to use? working doors would be nice, like the dark dungeon

2. I need to have objects to click on.

I looked at tutorials that came with Dark GDK. Some of my initial observations:

The DBO example, problen is walking through walls (no, I dont want to use the collision library available)

extracted the World example with the BSP file but it seems there is no easy way to make BSP worlds

the dark dungeon example. making the graphics and creating my own world. my take would be that i might need some recommendations on software to do that.

Also, is there a .X viewer / catalog program out there?

thanks
ricky

Any advice would be helpful.

Hey
I use DeleD 3d editor, there is a free version
http://www.delgine.com/
You can make 3d levels and export them to .X format, works great with DARK GDK

You can make doors and stuff and then add them in as extra objects in the level and then make them move when the player activates them. For what you want to do, DARK GDK is perfect.
