About 2 weeks ago I thought of trying to get directx10 for my windows pc. So i searched and I found one it was called the Alky project. So everything sounds good right, well I want my directx9 back because I can\'t play any of my games because they require directx9. I tried EVERYTHING and I cant get it back. So today I bought a game and it said download dirextx9 so I did and I restarted my computer and still I have directx10. I WANT TO DELETE directx10 please help. The reason why this is going in the fps product chat its because I thought by getting directx10 (for free :S) it would run smoother. Please help I\'m begging you.

If your reading this, then tell me why you're reading this?

Well, I hate to say this to you, but that's kinda what you get for ****ing around with stuff that you have no clue about.

Now you've learned your lesson NOT to use any third-party stuff that claims to do spectacular things for your computer that no one else has ever been able to accomplish!

I looked at the Alky Project installer. Did you back up your files before the Alky install?

Ah, but you know what my Mod does to your computer. NOTHING! If you don't like it, you know exactly how to get rid of it.

Let's compare:

Messing around with Direct X -

- Effects EVERY graphical program on your computer that utilizes it.

Messing around with FPSC -

- Effects FPSC

Which do you think is worse?

Which do you think would be easier to fix if something went wrong?

Let's compare how to solve the worst-case scenario:

Messing around with Direct X -

- Re-Format your HDD and Re-Install Windows

Steps taken:

- Countless hours (for me it would be, lol) of backing up important data
- Rebooting to Windows installation disk
- Format Hard Drive
- Partition HDD and Install Windows

Time taken: Approx. 3 hours

Messing around with FPSC -

- Reinstall FPSC

Steps taken:

- Uninstall FPSC
- Reinstall FPSC
- Upgrade to last known working version of FPSC

Time taken: Approx. 15 minutes

You see, this is the kinda thing you should be gauging BEFORE you let an installation program sink it's gooey teeth into your precious system.

Sensible Precaution.

Purchase backup software. Acronis True Image, Norton Ghost, or something similar. Do a complete backup of your pc. Install new software. If the new software buggers up the computer restore your pc using the backup you have made. Works for me lol.
