Well, I am working on a level, jpeg soon, and I am trying to make a daylight scene with lots of lighting. So far, it is worling fine, but when I was looking in the setup.ini file, i realized that there is some kind of feature for a "sun". Is this global mapping or what feature would this pertain to. Please answer. Thanks.

Note, sorry for any incorrect spelling

I think its really buggy, but i would ask Lee...

I haven't tried it, but give it a try

As an alternitive, put lights behind and infront of windows

W= window L=light P=Passage

L|W|L|PPPP|L|W|L

What do you set those values to for a realistic sun effect?

the second to last setting for lights works for me ( i think its 100)

set it outside and inside the window for a good effect.

What do you mean by outside and inside the window? I can't get it to work.

I meant this:

And the end result:

from SC

PS. It looks better if the window is just a CSG hole and not a real window, it still looks better in a 2x3 or 2x4 room, and not a huge room like in the pic

Try that, and make a piece of ground on the bottom of the editor with a few static objects, see if it makes a difference. By default the colours are set to black, so it does nothing?

I'll try it later and see what happens, it could be used to determine the direction of the dynamic shadows or something.

Let us know how it goes,

I took the liberty of testing it, Paul, but there are no shadows or light. It lags in some spots but I don't mind that. It lags for a second or so then reverts back to 31-38.

we need to ask lee what happens when you change it and why they put it in if it has no effect.

No it's not fake I figured it out! See the dynamic shadow part in the setup.ini? change that from 0 to 1, and then look at it in game. The "sun" controls which way the shadows point.
