I purchased a copy of Darkbasic from a local computer & electronics store (which came with a manual that says it's revised for version 1.12). I see that there are apparently updates for the program, but they apparently can only be downloaded by customers who purchased the program online. The only downloads I have access to are for the readme file and the newer manual. How can I get the actual update?

Thank you, DB, but that link takes me to the same problem I've been having. I select English and click the "Next" button, and then it leads me to a page that that shows:

"DarkBASIC - Upgrades
Upgrades
Please follow the steps below to upgrade your version of DarkBASIC.
Download the Patch and Language Updates
The latest version of DarkBASIC can be downloaded from your Order History.
You can also download the 1.13 Manual. The Readme file tells you what has changed / been fixed with this release."

The only downloads that page actually offers me are for the readme file and the newer manual.

The problem lies in the statement, "The latest version of DarkBASIC can be downloaded from your Order History." Since I bought my copy of DarkBASIC at an actual store instead of online, I have no order history from which I could get any patch or update.

Because DKC is not in your Order History, you have to send a picture of yourself holding the disk to TGC, and they should add it to your Order History for you to download the updates.

Seriously? I'm not sure where my camera is. Would a scanned image of my receipt do? I can scan the label on the disk or the box cover too, if necessary. And to whom should I send it?

Lol!

I've not actually heard that before. Sounds a bit silly to me actually, but you never know...

Just email support and ask them for advice. A scan of your receipt might be enough.

The reason for the problem is that up until V1.2.0, the installer for updates checked that you had the full version of DBC installed before upgrading.

The latest V1.2.0 update does not - and it also includes a free copy of Dark Matter and a few extras. As such it can only be downloaded through your download history.
