hi, this is my first time reading a tutorial for trying to model in wings3d

http://homepage.mac.com/ycarry/Wings/Pencil/Pencil1.html

For some reason i just dont understand step 14, thus making it difficult to even attempt step 15...if somebody could show me in different words what the tutorial is trying to explain it would be alot of help, thanks.

Seems like it just tells you to move the vertices in the Y axis(up/down most often)

I'm sorry but as I have never used Wings3D before I don't know how to do that, although hold on...

It says
Quote: "RMB>RMB:Move LMB:select axis"
So this is pointing to that you select the vertices and then take the move thingy and then left mouse click the blue axis(the blue line) and then just move it I guess.

Whatever, I don't really know how t explain it in an easier way

Wow, I thought I knew how to use Wings3D but this is new to me Well I got it to work! First go into prefrences then goto the advanced tab then make sure the advanced menu's checkbox is checked.

Now once you have the vertices selected like in step 13 you need to right click you should see ".move." right click it(not left click like normal) and then select one of the edges that going up and down. You should get an arrow thats point eather up or down. Press alt and then right click and then select all the vertices like it shows in step 15. If you need help with any other parts of the tutorial just ask.

thanks, my checkbox was unchecked, when i do the blue line thing, my blue line points up, and in the tutorial it points down, does that matter?

Well you're using an advanced vert movement trick to make them move in that arc shape. All you really had to do was grab the middle vert on each side, move it up, then the next two verts, move them up slightly less, than the final verts, and move them up even less.

But really, a pencil doesn't even look like that, any pencils I've ever seen dont have an arc around where they've been shaven :/. I guess if its a more box-like pencil it would... but still.
