Hi Everyone, Here's my first contribution to the community. I'm totaly new to this whole thing so please be tolorent of my lack in modeling skills.

I've got 20 years exp in graphic design and illustration (Mostly 2D stuff). I'm just starting out with 3D stuff. So be kind. There's so much to learn, and it's a little overwhelming, but I'm really enjoying it.

If these models are O.K., and work well on your machines, I'll be more than happy to submit many, many more. But remember, I'm a total Newb and they will improve as I do. Thanks, The Cosmic Prophet.

Any tips or critiques are welcome.

Hold on, you're new at this? Great models, bu it is a bit suspicious that you can produce models this good if you're a noob. Anywho, can i use in commercial please?

Thanks for the praise Guys. I'm Really glad you Like them. And yes it's true, I'm new at working in 3D. I purchased FPSC and Milkshape 3D about 2 months ago. The models themselves are not really that complex, I rely heavly on the textures to get the look I want. I'm a veteran Photoshop user (I use Photoshop 5 circa 1980's) if that gives you a clue. I really want to start building animated entities, but I'm having a little trouble with the import-export issue, but as soon as I get it figured out, I plan to release a bunch of cool stuff for all of you.

X Games: Thanks again, and I love your castle segment pack. after playing around with it for awhile, I came up with probably a hundred ideas for "Castle Stuffers" Awesome!

Best wishes, The Cosmic Prophet.

P.S. I hope to have my website up soon, everyone will be welcome.

Aaagreen:

The Orrey is the most complex, and has the highest poly count ( Around 4000) But even so, it works well on my system with "0" lag. In fact, It and the other "library" models are all in the same room. Check the frame rate on the screenies. I'm running a 2.9ghz Pentium 4 with a 512mb graphics card.

Please note that 90% of the models I've made so far are considerably less in polys. But when I found a photo of one online, I just had to try it.

Sorry Aaagreen I answered your second question first. Absolutely! use them as you see fit. In fact, all the models I plan to release here on the forums will be free of charge, and can be used however you like.

And, If you, or anyone else would like me to build something in particular let me know, I need some Ideas! But please note: right now I'm still working with static entities. I've not Learned how to make working weapons or characters yet. Give me a few more months and hopefully that will change.

Me Again, A day or so ago I read that someone wanted a big power core or generator type entity for a sci-fi based game. Here ya go, just finished it. Hope you like it.

If someone could animate the center rotor to rotate, I think it would be great. If you do please post the revised model for everyone.

Thanks again, the Cosmic Prophet.

you know some of us have experience before we went to FPSC, if you remember dark fact, He was a programmer, moddeler, and a texture'r before he came to TGC.
SO does that mean that he stole models?
No, it does not, because some one has bad punctuation or just came to the forums means squat, its not being new to the forums, its being experience that makes him a noob or pro.

I hope that next time you think first before you type.

Thank you all so much, I really didn't expect such a positive reaction to my work. Please let me clear the air here. As far as the graphics ie: Textures and such, I've been a professional Graphics designer for almost 20 years. I've also had some experience in drafting. The only experience I have as far as game creation goes, is through the use the "build" game engine (Duke Nukem 3D, for those who dont know.)

In that engine, all (100%) of the entities and charecters are 2D animated and non- animated sprites. Similar to what you here call Decals. your levels are built by "drafting" a floor plan, then upon entering 3D mode, you can either raise or lower floors and cielings to create the 3d appearance in the game.

As far as 3D modeling goes, for me it's just like drafting (laying out various shapes "flat" to represent a 3d object) just in reverse. For me the modeling part is easy ( the basics anyway). The texturing, is again 2d art, no problem.

Having said that, let me say this: There is a ton of stuff I just don't know yet. For example: using bump maps, and normals properly, or how to set the diffuse, specular, and emmisive lights, Booleen ???? I still have no idea what that is. And forget about animation, It's like a foriegn language.

Thus, my self proclaimed newb declaration!

I hope this clears thing up a bit, And we can get past this issue, and start building some awesome games together. Ive got some great ideas for content, and would love to see some of my stuff in a real game. I'm now dissabled, and this is a great avenue for me to continue forward with my passion, Art!

I'm doing this for fun, not proffit, and i"ve got a lot of time on my hands. That's not to say I won't ever offer a really huge model pack for a small fee, as sugested by "American Infantry", But rest assured, my primary goal is to be an active contributor to the community, Not to proffit from my work, as I have no need to do so.

Best wishes to all, The Cosmic Prophet.

Leaning Objects To The Side : What exactly do you mean? Like carcases on hooks in a meat processing plant, or just a dead pig lying on the ground.
let me know exactly what you need, and I'll give it a go.
