Just thought that I'd torture everyone on the boards for today!

Some things to point out in the screenshot:
- Bloom
- Water
- Dual-Wielding
- Working Fog (That can be reflected in the water)
- Water Fog

Do not ask for this Mod, you'll just be ignored.

That's frikin sweet.

Are we allowed to ask about the mod lol? If so my question is. How will this mod affect all of us? Not asking for it. Just asking how it will be applied (I guess if that makes any sense.) Or I guess, I'm asking what you'll do with it lol?

OK, I'll ignore. I'm more with you anyway in that all the pretty stuff does not necessarily make a good game. However, good looking fog and water is kinda cool.

@Jenkins:

The mod may indirectly effect everyone once someone (who will remain anonymous) makes a game utilizing it.

What I do with it is just play around with it's capabilities mostly.

@Flatlander:

Yes, I think when properly used, Fog and Water can bring much gameplay value. Bloom, when also applied properly can make Fog and water more effective, by hindering view to a blinding scale.

I guess I never really knew much about bloom. I guess you almost need it if you are going to have fog and water, eh?

Lol, well, aside from being used to blind people it can also be used to just make things look pretty.

I wouldn't say that it'd be necessary to accompany fog and water with it, though. They can do just fine by themselves.

That's good because what I've actually seen of bloom and heard about it, I'm not sure it's worth it. I would rather make the game interesting and challenging in other ways than worry about how it looks. Heavens my 14 year old grandson still likes to play those simple 2D dorky looking scrolling platform games. It's only because they can be challenging and "fun" to play.

I think it's wonderful that people are able to mod the engine for their own particular needs and game. That's much more interesting than everyone having the same thing. There absolutely should be different levels of expertise and showing off to keep us thinking and moving forward.

Of course I want the mod too, LOL. Eventually, I think we will all have bloom and water and dual wield, and we'll be wanting the next best thing, whatever that happens to be. That's what keeps the gaming world going round.

Nice work.

Best.

Lol, I was just playing Megaman X3 last night. I love that series so much. It's very challenging at times but the gameplay makes it all worth it, because you know that if you die... it's your fault.

The day before I was playing Kid Icarus. Another great classic.

Already workin on it. Ply's Mod V107 could take quite some time because of it, too. My goal for this mod is to actually satisfy the most annoying request for a Mod. So, that's going to take me a while to get, but I plan to make it very very very flexible.
(Don't ask me what it is, because that's going to remain a surprise, hehehe)

Quote: "hows the fps?"

Pretty much crap, and it's all the fault of Bloom taking up too much rendering time. I'm not as experienced with shaders as Nighthawk is, so my Bloom is acting up and doesn't look quite right on different resolutions. I'm thinking of removing it altogether. If I had DarkShader and the ability to directly apply effects to the camera and not have to do round-about methods for it, then the FPS may be dramatically improved. Until then, Bloom may just go the way of "SetDefaultWeap".

In the pic I have a 27 FPS, but it was fluctuating between 25 and 27 on a one room map with a weapon vendor that I scripted. Only things in the room were two desks, a character entity to sell me stuff, and a light.

Then this one will make your jaw fall off. Lol

I say that because... when I got it working... mine did.

The Mod is finished, I'm just working on a good enough script to show it off with. Once I can get that, I'll put together a movie and post it up here. Then, let the jaw dropping begin. Lol

Ok, watched it, predicted the Vehicle, but the third-person was a real whack in the gut. A great whack though You should see about getting this added to V2, in return for fame and fortune, if you want. I don't know how buggy this mod is, but I'm guessing it isn't stable yet?

Funky, I'll give you most of it, but I believe water will be in V2, quoted from "FPSC classic and Beyond":

The good news is that we are working to make a special version of X10 which works on your DirectX 9 hardware. You won't get the fancy DirectX 10 features and some other features that are tied to our Model 4.0 shaders, such as Bloom, but you will get full XP and Vista compatibility, all the great game features like water, ragdoll, physics improvements, score system and much of everything else we added to FPS Creator X10 this last year. Perhaps the best news is that as an existing FPS Creator user, you will get this major upgrade absolutely free!

I like the part where it says it's free. My wallet hurts whenever I come to this site.

Not as of yet.

It will be much more stable when it is released, though.

@107295:

Well, I don't recall seeing any of the special water features in FPSCX10 that I've had in Lemur and in the demo above.

It won't be an issue, though. No body will ever see it.

I have removed both Water and Bloom from Ply's Mod. I decided against it, to prevent more "War of the Mods" insinuations. Besides, it's like you said: Water will be in V2. So, no sense in me wasting my time on it, eh?

However, if you haven't had the chance to see the latest video, I suggest you take the time to. It may just change your mind.

Quote: "I like the part where it says it's free. My wallet hurts whenever I come to this site."

How right you are. No body likes to pay for things, especially people around here it would seem.
Ply's Mod will be for sale. Or should I say: A game featuring Ply's Mod will be for sale. You can expect things better than water to be displayed in it.

Yes, I know. Sorry for referencing everyone instead of just the people who fit the description. There ARE people here who support the community, but there also a lot of the people who always have to ask "Is it free?"

I was just referencing those type of people here, not trying to name anyone.
