((Is this the right forum?))

I would like to make a birds-eye view 3D game using animated sprites. Is this possible? Will DBPro accept sprites as models?

In easier terms, I want to make a game that has a Paper Mario style visual appeal to it, I assume most of the objects are sprites that are interacting within a 3D world.

I mean, can I turn flat 2D animations into a 3d object but retain it's 2D'ness?

And another question, is it possible to have an animated sprite as a 3D object?

If I am wrong, please show me how! ^^

well, you can put sprites in while theres is 3d going on, but it will be hard to get them to interact ( i think). your best bet would be to, instead of making sprites, make 3d planes that are textured with your flat image.

Your signature has been erased by a mod - 340 KB is a little big don't you think?

yeah, a 3d plane is what you would use.

And this forum I believe is more for talking about modeling models. Whereas "how to do this in DB" or whatever goes in the DB/DBP forums

Or, you can make it the same way GTA 1, GTA london and GTA 2 was made, make the world or streets or w/e 3D and position the camera above it all looking down, then make your charcater 3d or sprite or what ever and add in your collisions so he dont go through the floor or any walls. That way when you move around a building, you will at some point see all 4(?) faces of that building as your looking down when your walk around it. Not all 4 at once, but 1,then 2 then 3 then4 then 1 if you keep circling it. Get my drift?

Just a suggestion.

Agree, use a flat plain.
Rotate it X-90 and texture it.
Always point it towards camera.
