3D World Studio / Error: "Unable to create 3D scene"

I have this problem: I downloaded the .X exporter, and placed it in the /plugins/ folder. I took my .CSM file, and ran the .X exporter, selected to save it as "export.csm" (does it matter?) and got this error message:

"Unable to create 3D scene"

Has anyone ever seen anything like this? Help would be appreciated.

Change your desktop res to 16-bit.
