I was playing one of thoses flash Dance Revolution type of games of newgrounds and tried to make one myself in dark basic came out half ok most of the features are missing and theres only one song and it's on meduiem. How to play:

Pretty simple press the buttons showen of the screen when it goes into the red area.

pretty cool
it would be better if the arrows started at the very bottom

also you can cheat by holding all the buttons

Just make it so if they press a button when nothing is in the red, its wrong. Nice so far.

still wont work because if you just hold the buttons, the arrows will activate when they reach red.
You need to add some way of detecting when the key is pressed or something.

Keep a log of which keys were pressed last frame. If any keys were pressed this frame but not last frame, register a hit. Otherwise, don't.

frames? are you talking about flash? because this isn't made in flash

i'm pretty sure NeX knows this isn't flash i believe Nex is using "frame" as in "iteration", "game cycle", "loop", etc.

Frame. Like in Frames per Seconds (FPS). The number of picture "played" on the screen.

frame example

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
| / - \ | / - \ |

this will show a spinning stick(?).

I hope you get it, though frames usually changes 30-60 timer per Second.
