I just finished up three Egyptian weapons for the TGC store. I decided to make them with no hands, as then they can blend in with any of the available weapons, especially since all three of these are long handled weapons. First up is the axe:

The axe has a slashing animation and is decorated with hieroglyphics.

Next up is the spear:

The spear has a vicious stabbing animation.

Finally, we have the magician's staff:

The electrical energy is animated, and surrounds the gemstone. The staff is thrust forward for a magic attack.

Edit: Here is a video of these weapons in motion, as well as my other Egyptian items. Its on Youtube, so none of the details really show up. But at least you can see the animations:

Thanks Tanya - they will be available in the TGC Store when that opens in May. Each weapon will be $1.40, and includes normal and specular maps for use with shaders.

The only critismn would be the lack of hands, the spears position on screen and the animations. other than that, the moddelling is awesome!

The problem with hands is that we have four different hand systems right now, and since I would have to make my own, that would add a fifth into the mix. Even if I modeled hands that were similar to MP6 hands, what if someone wanted to use these weapons with bond's medeival weapons? No one is going to make a full game using just these three melee weapons, so the hands would never match.

Thanks for your comments and criticism though.

I noticed these when they were first uploaded to the store, great job! My favorite is the magic staff. And I totally agree with you about the hands, having 4 different sets of hands really alienates the model packs from each other....but I guess that's just how it goes.

That is a really standout level there! Top notch job, it looks like a lot of fun to play or just wander around and explore.

Would it be possible for the staff to 'fire'? Say like an electrical charge? Just a thought.

Punk13, the two packs in my signature are already bundled at very reasonable prices. The egyptian stuff is TGC Store only.

Nicky, that's not a bad idea. I should go and dissect Butter's flamethrower for ideas.

I wasn't actually suggesting you see a bolt of lightning or something like that, just have it like a gun, you 'fire', the enemy gets hit. That might make it easier than having to have a visible shot.
