Does DB Pro have all the extra commands that Dark Matter adds to DarkBASIC, or are there some advantages of having DB+DM over having just DB Pro?

DB Pro has all of the Classic and enhancement pack commands (apart from they removed a few classic instructions as obsolete) plus it goes at warp factor 10 compared to Classic, the downside is on my machine at least it does tend to crash and play silly buggers rather a lot, but it`s worth the hassel for the speed (just)

OK, thanks. I've used the trial versions of both classic and pro, but pro kept crashing when I tried to run the programs I'd written, so I hope that doesn't happen if I buy the full version.

Is there anything that you can't do anymore due to certain commands becoming obsolete, or weren't any important things taken out?

Lord Lamer,
Many, if not most of the DarkBasic program will crash if you load them in to DarkBasic pro.

DB Pro is still extremely beta... there are numerous bugs and after messing with it for a while, I came to the conclusion that, I bought beta software... I decided to go back to DarkBASIC until enough problems were fixed with DBPro...

You can read my threads in Newcomers and DB Pro Discussion of some of the problems I ran into.

from the manual, all the removed commands

3ds2x
enable tnl
disable tnl
set mipmap mode
append object animation
clear all object keyframes
clear object keyframe
save object animation
set object keyframe
load static objects +
make static object +
delete static objects +
save static objects +
attach object to static +
detach object from static +
disable static occlusion +
enable static occlusion +
set static objects texture +
set static objects wireframe off +
set static objects wireframe on +
save bitmap *
emulation mode
set emulation off
set emulation on
rotate image
save image *
always active off
always active on
set eax *

the ones with asterisks are supposed to be removed ready for replacement with improved commands, and the ones marked with + are replaced by the bsp worlds and commands, most classic programs will not run if you drop them straight into pro, even when they seem to use the same commands and look as though they should run they sometimes won`t, as for running the pro demo, thats so old now and not realy like pro at it`s current level, they are going to upgrade the demo (or so I hear) when they release patch 5, so you might want to wait for that, cheers
