I found some interesting issues. I uninstalled and reinstalled everything for X10, and I only installed the Model packs approved for X10, MP 16, MP1, MP2 and MP3 plus the blood patch and the Updates for X10 to 1.08Mature.

Now the problem I have noticed and you can see this in the Particle Steam Effect map. Is that is not generating the X10 Steam or Particles and Smoke. It uses the old X9.

Also if you create a new map of any kind and add the X10 Steam and Smoke it will only display only 1 instance of each , as well as any decals only get 1 instance for ANY particles or decals.

I did a test level of just with just the old X9 looking smoke placed in 10 different spots and only 1 shows. I repeated this for all the decals and the same thing happened.

I believe this to be related to the X10 updates because it didn’t seem to happen until the 1.08 patch.

FYI too I also deleted the entire X10 folder in my documents after uninstalling to make sure it was a fresh start.

Has anyone else noticed this? If not try it and see for yourself.

FYI: The mods may require screenies or else they may lock ya.

Sounds interesting though. Lots of little quirks occur all the time in the FPSC software that are pretty unexplainable.

Main thread? Aren't the other threads only for x9?

I'm not being sarcastic btw, I'm really not positive that they are free for x10 stuff.

Umm I don't see that in anyones's post, and also this forums as far as I know is for X10 not the X9. Also there are no mods for this post as there are no mods added so why would it need a screenshot? This I have already sent to Lee, just waiting for his response.

IF you think this is interesting then check it out for yourself on your PC and relay your findings. I have done this already on 5 Different PC's all with entirely different setups and hardware. Each with the same exact result.

The Effect folder contained in the maps has a level created to show Steam and Smoke that uses X10 works perfectly on first install. Works fine after installing the model packs released for X10, applied bloodpatch stioll working. Applied 1.08 patch ofr X10 seems now it doesn't work at all and it is no longer using the x10 Smoke or Steam.

For the same reason posts like these need a screen shot where mods ARE present.
