Hello, everyone.

Im just bored, no ideas yet, so meanwhile ill tell you my satistics on only performence so far. Here sre some questions you might want to know. If you want me to test something for you, you can post your question.

1. How did performence change from V1 to V1.8.8

Version 1.00

33 FPS in a level that had 9 segments and nothing else
It took 92 seconds to load the ww2 level, but i took out the lightmaps
The ww2 level ran with 10 Frames per second.

Version 1.8.7

35 FPS in the 9 segment room, plus itunes was acting up, which may have slowed it down
Loading the ww2 level with no lightmaps took only 36 seconds
And the ww2 level ran with a frame rate of 13.

Test one: 33-35
Test two: 92-36
Test three:10-13

2. How much does AI slow down performance?

I made a room filled with 49 enemies.
Frame rate: 2
I took out all of them and replaced them with 49 barrels(dynamic)
Frame rate: 25

3. Is texture quality important?

4x reduction: 37 fps
No reduction: still 37 fps

4. Is a variety a big deal?

15 of the same objecs
frame rate jumped from 31-32
15 diffrent objects
frame rate 28-31

5. Is the static shadow effect introduced in V104 effective?

New lightmap: 29 fps
Old lightmap: 33 fps

6. Whats the diffrence with dynamic and static objects (no lighmapping)

Room full of static objects: 33 fps
Room of dynamic objects: 31 fps

7. How does transparency effect performence?

Foom of windows: 14 fps
Room of holes: 16

8. DO mesh platforms slow it down?

A room of meshed platforms (matinence platform): 32
No mesh: 33

9. What about fog?

Fog: 22
No Fog: 24

10. Dont auto floors cause slow downs?

Actually,

Auto floor: jumping from 37-38
No auto floor: 38

11. (By Bloodhound 2) How much do enemies with AI vs Stable slow down

30 Characters with no AI: 12 fps
30 characters with AI 7: fps

Anything you wanna know, I can test for you

Just to let you know, having a level with 9 segments or 50 segments will have no effect on the performance, pretty much, so long as you have no dynamic entities.

Interesting tests!

Dynamic entities are probably way more CPU intensive when they are 'on the move'. If the engine is smart it won't waste as much time on dynamic entities that are still as those that are actually being manipulated.
