I haven't had any problem at all so far with the shop, it is going brilliantly, i have already downloaded a few things, the only thing i would like to see changed though is the layout of where the downloads are installed to, you have to go through like 3 folders just to get to an item that you want, it would be cool if the downloaded items were just put in the user folder or something like that, i really feel that FPSC needs a bit of tidying up, e.g. put all the "Modern Day" stuff together etc.

Having them in one folder like it is now is a good idea. Because you can only download purchased stuff 5 times, being able to back up a single folder instead of searching through loads will save you time.

I have the same problem.
I confirmed the email address and even set it as the primary.
It opens the PayPal home page everytime, whether I am already logged in or not.
If I continue to log in, then I get an overview page, not a confirmation or order page.

This is probably Vista related.

@Loyal Servant of The Emperor, I would suggest you try running it under "ADMIN", I had the same problem as you, ran it under admin, and worked right away, Won a contest with a built game on Vista .

I have FPSC installed on Vista and it works fine.It was easy to navigate through the store and find what you want, buy it,download it immediately and use it in FPSC.
I have bought points using Paypal and that was a quick and easy experience as well.
I have had no problems with the TGC store and give it my highest recommendation.
This may indeed be the best thing that TGC has ever done.
Shopping is easy as well as the models are all grouped under the artist's name.If you know the artist and the kind of work they do you can click on their name and find their stuff.
Other than that (and that is actually a preference for me) the store is great and the models are reasonably priced according to the artist's skill, type of model, etc.
I haven't found anything on there that was too expensive to afford.
Everything I have bought, downloaded and tested has worked fine.
So far everything has went off without a hitch.
I have to say that I am a happy camper and I think everybody should enjoy the store.
For as little as $5 USD you can get points and start shopping.
There's a wide variety of stuff with more to come and a little something for everybody.
Trust me...when the store opens you'll all like the results.

I'll try it out with XP.

---EDIT---
Okey tried it on XP and it worked.

Worldpay is not yet finished, as Rick stated before.

PayPal works fine on Vista for me, but since X9 is not Vista Supported I don't think they will really look into it.

Hi guys,

Re: the PayPal "home page" issue, I am wondering if as it doesn't work in Vista, but does in XP, if this is a security related setting.

The store currently creates an encrypted PayPal form, the results of which it then opens in your default web browser. We did it this way (rather than stay inside FPSC) because we figured you would trust it more if you could see your browser had control / SSL was enabled, etc.

However I'm wondering if opening the window like that is causing this problem in the first place.

Any comments before we proceed to debug this?

I am running Vista and have the HOMEPAGE issue also.

I agree that it is probably a security setting or something with the Vista, but I have not figured it out yet.

There is our confirmation, and I am sure I would get the same results if I try it with XP.

Maybe the people who have it working on Vista can enlighten you on their security settings so we can figure out which one to change.
I'll try running it in 'XP mode' and see if that works.

I also think it has something to do with Vista.
Cause when i wanted to buy points in XP it didnt directed me to Paypal's homepage.

And now i have received my points...(which are already gone )

Okay I tried setting my Compatitbility Mode to XP Service Pack 2, and I got the same result...PayPal homepage.

So it has to be in the Vista security and not a compatibility issue.

I'll try some other things later, but right now I have to mail these papers to Rick, so I'm off to the post office.

Yeah, I sometimes do run FPSC as admin but I didn't do both when I set the compatibility mode.
I can run FPSC under my user name instead of Admin, and without the compatibility mode set to XP and it works.
However, I guess I'll have to do this tickbox thing when buying points.

I'll try both at the same time now.

EDIT
OKAY THAT WORKS!

Set both the compatibility mode to XP, and the Run as Administrator at the same time.

Just right click the program icon (or shortcut icon), then click Properties, and set the compatibility tab info like in the pic.
Then Vista buy thing should work fine. (it worked for me)

What I was getting at is that it's easier to back up one folder with all your purchased stuff than have to go through 'picking' the purchased stuff out.

First I have had no problems with PayPal but I've been using XP anyway and so I guess my comment is a moot point anyway. CE, I guess you were able to provide your own solution after all.

I agree with Nickydude with that. I actually hadn't gone back to see what bkinsman had previously said or suggested, but I do like them in the purchased folder for the main reason I can easily back all my purchases through the store. It would be a reeeaaaallll pain if I had to go searching through all of the folders to locate the ones I had purchased just to back them up.

You may find this taking more of your time but you know you can move these files to anywhere you would like them to go. In fact, I may do that myself after I make a backup of them, or not.

I'm just about to go buy some points. I would suggest the addition of a 2500 point selection, as I need around 2300 points for what I'm planning to buy so I'll have to get 2000 and 500 seperately.

EDIT: Just bot 2000, and some how managed to collect a cart of items worth exactly 2015 so I don't have that 15 left over from last time

I get a message now that the store is down for maintenance.
Just when I was going to attempt my first Upload.
Oh well, I hope it comes back up soon.
Maybe they are going to add a publisher name or something.

Do you guys get a "Publisher Unknown" message on start up?

I get that message now, after I switched to the second store version. (the first one didn't do that)

My humble guess is very soon. I believe it will be released when Lee releases the official FPSC version 1.09 and he has indicated he is very close. I also believe that this is pretty well tied down but, only the shadow knows.

From page 1 of this thread:

Quote: "If testers want to buy extra points then they can. Just make sure you use paypal for now because Worldpay is not fully setup. Report any issues if you see any via this process.

Unless there has been another post which says Worldpay HAS been set up I think this still stands...

I haven't found any problems with it yet, granted I haven't had access to it very long (my fault, not TGC's). It does seem a little too much to have to log in about 3 times the first time you open it, though...

Hi testers, new version of the store is available for download (usual place).

New in this version
-The store should now use less resources when downloading large files.
-Long downloads (either large files or slow connections) should no longer cause the license download to fail.
-Segments without a .loc file will use their file name as their display name.
-Having a version greater than the most recent no longer prompts you that a new version is available.
-Viewing entity properties (right click editor) now has an active scroll bar when first loaded.
-Clicking "register" in the login box then clicking the back button no longer results in the loss of the browser window.
Please note that a new seller account will be visible. This is Paul Johnston's test seller account.
There is a test object that is 220Mb in size. If you have the time can you try and download it
to see if the store manages to download it or not. It's a stress test file and just contains some
DXSDK Aug07 stuff so nothing really interesting.

If you download the large file to completion a file will be created at "Files\entitybank\purchased\Paul\Indoor\Junk.rar"
Check it's there and then delete it to save disk space!

Fast feedback please!

Just downloaded the test object no problem, I was also streaming video from the net, took about 6 mins to download with a cable speed of around 10mb. It was where it should be and was deleted promptly.
