When we build a final exe, how do we include all the media files (sound files, bitmaps, etc.) w/ it? Even though in the Settings, I've selected
the 'EXE with Attached Media' option as opposed to my usual 'Noraml EXE'
option, and I've added all the media files in the Media setting (I used
wildcards (*.bmp,*.wav) instead of typing out each bitmap and sound file name), but when I copied the exe to another folder, it gets an error when I ran it (can't find sound file). Anybody? I wish they had some documentation in the user manual...

Also, I've included an icon file in the Icons settings, but it still generates the good old DBPro icon w/ the exe??

I am having a similar problem. I have a background image (.jpg) that gets loaded at the start. However, I attached the necessary .jpg file under the media tab went to settings and told it to make an EXE with attached media. Run the EXE from a different folder and the game works fine with no errors but the background image doesn't load!

I am up to date with all patches, fixes, etc

I have just noticed that if I place the needed image into a new folder along with the EXE it works as normal....its as if it isn't including the media with the EXE. Do you need to specify in the program that the image is embedded in the EXE? How do you reference it?

I've the latest patch (4.1). Sounds like a bug w/ DBPro if more than one person is having the same problem...

I have exactly the same problem, I just specify the exe as a small one with a.pck file (all media is stored in there) so if I change my code I only have to dsitribute a small one, however it isn't always reliable with my media.

I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.

Is it possible to create an installer to get round this problem? For instance, the installer could create a folder with the title of your game and stick the EXE in it along with the media.

I also have a similar problem- when i build the EXE in pro for my game, unless the splash screen image AND the main game screen image are in the same folder as the EXE, they don't show up in the game. Everything else works, and I don't get any errors, they just don't show up in the game unless they are in the exe folder. Strange.

If anyone knows how to fix this it would help, I dislike having to tell people to be sure to unzip the exe AND these 2 images in the same folder in order for them to work (and thus, for my game to look professional and not crappy as is the case if someone were to view the Zip contents and just run the exe.)

They didn't fix this problem yet????

It use to be if you did not load the image with the extra ,1 on the end, then the image would not be saved in the execute file, even if you placed in the dbpro(using the ide)

Gee I thought they would have fixed this by now...

I guess I always tend to use the extra ,1 on load image (that is not in the help files)

Let me know if this helps...
