Hi,
can DB PRo use .swf or send variable to control it

ummm i want to make Edutainment in DB PRo
but AVI is BIG and not control , i want to have swf in DB Pro
it possible or Impossible,

if it possoble, How To????

DarkBASIC Professional cannot use .swf at the moment.

Though in theory it is possible to create a DLL that can then allow you to use .swf

I hope that helps ya.

Its your lucky day

I've just added a FLASH player gadget to my Windows GUI plugin - due for release later this week

Fortunately as it is an ActiveX component, I can add it quickly without bloating the DLL.

Let me know what commands you want in it.

So far I have CREATE GADGET FLASH / OPEN FLASH / STOP FLASH, most operations can be controlled from within the anim itself, but if you specifically want any commands then let me know.

I don't understand. If you mean, can you use the animation as a texture on a model, the answer is no.

Using the DLL is easy, just copy it into your plugins_user folder

I think you have gotten confused. That DLL you downloaded has nothing to do with Rob K's new GUI plugin. You will have to wait until he releases it, so you are able to use FLASH.

The Flash gadget won't play them, however you could easily make an HTML page with a QuickTime object on it, and that would work.

If people want specifically want QuickTime support in the Flash gadget, I can add it.

Its' prooving more challenging that I thought. I can get the QT movie player into the DBP app and playing / stopping the movie, but I cannot hide the control bar (when I send said command to the ActiveX object in crashes )

Its one reason why I never bothered doing a QT player for Windows Media Player... Its annoying that doesn't understand QT files.

Older versions of Windows media Player pre 6 I think play Quicktime files, you just have to select "any file type" then double click them. Unf even this has been removed now, but if you still have an old Win98 CD you can cuse the old version in conjunction with the new one, although the latest Hi Res Quick time videos aren't supported but I've only ever come across two of them anyways

Quicktime in DBwould be interesting, but as you said, it would be easy enough using your plugin to just have an inbedded webpage use it

Really looking forward to recieving your GUI Rob, it sounds very useful

WMP 9 doesn't like files that have been converted to QuickTime (using QT 6.3) unfortunately...
