For a school project I've been creating a series of video tutorials about 10 minutes long each, teaching the techniques behind modeling with Wings 3D, although the concepts can be used in any modeling package. I go through everything, from navigation all the way to animating and rendering a scene with the help of 3ds max.
Currently I have about 50% of the entire series done, about 45 minutes worth of footage, all with informative call-outs already placed. Only the first part so far - navigation - is 100% done, with music and final tweaking / menu images.
Ill be making a subdomain off of my own website to house this video series, along with a written tutorial on 3D terminology / getting wings 3d set up, and brief written intermission tutorials (like a paragraph or so) summing up what the previous video covered and reinforcing any important ideas.
Ill also be uploading every tutorial to You Tube to increase the user base these hit. The first part is already uploaded, and can be found in the link at the end of this post.
I know a voice-over would make them a lot better but my computer just doesnt seem to like taking mic input, it always turns to static after a few seconds of recording. Possibly in the future.
C&C welcome. Please dont forget to rate and if you can, comment, on the videos on youtube. The more popular they become, the more people they'll help.
