Are these other programs that game creators made workable with FPSC? I wanted to get that tree generator to make some good outdoor maps but wanted to double check.

I have treemagik and plantlife and find them both very useful for FPSC. You will have to go through the process of running the media created by those programs through the free entity creator by the gamecreators to make the trees/plants FPSC ready.
They are great programs if you 'are or are not' a modeler.
