can you make like a wall or something that could go away after lets say like 15 minute or so, cause for my game, the online map will need to have like huge walls that will go away after awhile, the map is very open but the idea is that people will get 15 minutes to make a fort out of boxes that dont break, and i want it so that your base can now be messed around with by people!

Yeah

FPSC multiplayer is a cool idea but the limitations have prevented it from spawning any multiplayer releases which people are queing up to join.

You'd be better of reading up on DBPro network code and trying to improve the source than trying to put together a well designed map with no doors, lifts, moveable objects and such.

You can get the objects into a multiplayer map for the host player to see and use but as Goth1Sniper says the game state for them will only be updated on your PC so if you run through a door it will look like you disappeared through it or if you move something it won't have moved in their game state.

SP = Single Player (At least in this forum it does)
MP = Multiplayer (Not Magic Points, like in RPGs, lol)

Check this out

http://darkbasicpro.thegamecreators.com/?f=hands_on_vol2

This book has a dedicated section on DBPro network code.

I've decided to go ahead and start taking a look at the FPSC multiplayer code myself as I'm now quite happy with whats possible in FPSC single player gaming and the amount of support TGC are giving to this.

At present multiplayer seems to be more of an after thought just to get something functional in there which people can have a degree of fun with.

First things to address on the multiplayer list for me are:

- Allow dynamic entities which are updated for all players game states
- Allow scripts for doors, lifts, teleporters etc

Secondary things

- Create lobby to see connected players and chat before match starts
- Create external application for allowing selection of multiple multiplayer maps in same executable.

To my knowledge the primary things I've mentioned were in multiplayer once but got taken out somewhere down the line so it shouldn't be an unreasonable challenge to get them back in again.

One other thing you should add to that list is better support for other types of internet like wireless and remove all the hassle you have to do with port forwarding. But getting "Dynamic" Multiplayer where you can see other players decals, and dynamic actions would be super cool anyhow.
