sorry to hear that you lost all that work
i never really have to do anything to get inspiration, I just sit down and make music when i feel like i want to. I never sit down and make music when i'm not in the mood for it, and i think that's a big part of it. If you're like me then i can suggest this, stop making music for 4 days, after that, sit down at your computer, relaxed, no worries, nothing, listen to some good music, i listen to vivaldi alot when i do this. Then start composing like a mad man. If you're still not in the mood for making music try this, try finding a good song some person made on a page like www.soundclick.com and listen for things you dont know yet, then try copying yourself what the other person did and try to learn what techniques he used or something, when i do this i feel extremely inspired and am able to sit by my computer for hours, mainly because i've learned something new and it's fun to explore what to do with it, and now i'm doing something i havent done before and it's fun. You dont neccecarily have to copy the notes or anything, just learn how the person did the thing you dont know how to do, so it's still original
And another thing that makes me feel very creative, if it's a friday or saturday night and you've got absolutely nothing to do, stay awake untill you've reached the feeling that you're not tired anymore, you're more like half-awake and you feel relaxed and good. Last time i did this it was 5 A.m and i had been awake for 20 hours, and i've noticed, that when i do this, i feel extremely creative and inspired, some of my (in my view) best songs were made when i was like this.
I hope my strange ways of making music will help you
or give you some idea on how to get inspired. you should really just find out what works for you, if nothing works, just force yourself to make music and stop thinking about wether you're inspired or not.
