Ok, this is a tutorial that I whipped up for all of those beginners out there. It shows you how to get any textured model from 3Ds Max 9 into FPSCreator.

**EDIT**
I didn't realise that most of you didn't have 3DS Max.
Here's a link to get the FULLY FUNCTIONAL 3DS Max 9 TRIAL.
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/mform?id=10083915&siteID=123112
Fill out the form and then you've got 30 days to make some stuff!
**EDIT**

Step One:
Open up your model in 3DS Max.
You needthe Pandasoft direct .X exporter to export the model
into FPSC format.
Here's a link to the exporter download
http://www.andytather.co.uk/Panda/directxmax_downloads.aspx

Export the model as ".x"
and if you have the exporter installed you'll get this window

click OK

Step Two:
Okay, for this step you'll need a program called "Entity Workshop 2"(created by Wehtam)http://games.alyssar.nl/entityworkshop/
Open up your model with the program

Then open up the texture.

Step Three:
Last Step!
Click the Floppy disk icon to save your model

After that, press polygon collision and then you're done.
You're model will be in the "Entity Workshop" directory

I hope this helped some of the new guys out there!
And If mods consider this spam then feel free to lock this.

You do realise that 3DS Max is WAY out of the price range for most people around here?

Let's be honest. Most of the people on here cannot afford Max and they wouldn't buy it just specifically to work with FPSC.It's just too expensive.
Nobody is going to purchase Max to make models just for a $50 engine so if someone legally has Max it's usually a good bet they are a student,it belongs to their parents,or they use it as a professional tool for a living aka Bond and Errant.
There are some free and fairly affordable modeling packages out there that are worth picking up to use with FPSC but Max isn't one of them.
Max is a great app...just out of the price range of most of us.

Ok I'll be honest. You don't really know who has Max or who doesn't. Just because someone owns max doesn't mean they have to be a professional like Bond1. Someone could also be a good modeler like bond1 but doesn't want to learn a programing language. Umm I guess thats where the $50 FPSC engine comes in. But all that is besides the point.

It's just like Maniac Modeler said:

.

So this tutorial is for New/Beginners to FPSC. Which he did a really good job explaining.

I'm pretty sure autodesk has a strict license on models made with the trial of 3ds max. Alright basic tutorial though.

One word ...... 'Milkshape'

It's $25 (about the same as an FPSC model pack) and allows you to model, uv map, texture, rig and animate models for exporting into FPSC.

Thats basically everything you could need for creating FPSC models in one package which you can buy for $25 rather than $3495 which Max 9 costs.

Also I wouldn't recommend even considering Max until you can competently model in Milkshape. Spending $25 to find out is fine, spending $3495 and being completely overwhelmed is not so great.

Max 9 has layers and layers of options within layers which use terminology a scientist would be doing well to understand. Everytime you try to take even the smallest step forward, your presented with yet another series of panels with insane controls.

The point I'm trying to make here is forget the money side of it. There's no point owning a CRA-2 supercomputer if you can't figure out how to login to it.
