Yo! I started this thread to show off what may be (If i'm accepted) my contribution to the TGC store. My first model is a CD. Videos coming soon! (Video models, not actual videos)

It has 18 polies, and has a shiny texture on one side, and a blank texture on the other.

Uhh. That's some really nice scenery. Could be implemented nice for an office or something with computers. Or for an espionage mission...I like the texture.

Mmm....buttermilk....

Couldn't it just be a plane? It would save alot of polies aswell.

If it was a plane then if you placed it on any surface, two textures would be overlapping eachover (It was originally a flat plane)

No actually Deathead is right..
If you made a plain 2 sided model than you could attach a alpha to it.
Therefore save polies...and you work the texture out in the details.

I did make a plane. it had two polies. But when i placed it on a flat surface (floor, table) the two textures overlapped, and one texture flashed over the other. And, if it is square, it casts a square shadow which looks pretty crap.

VHS screens coming later.

No what me and Cheese Cake means is that you could make a plane and extrude it alittle bit. Just enough that you can't see the face, then apply the texture to it.

If it's overlapping (known as texture bleeding) you could try moving the mesh upwards in the model editor a tiny bit. Should work fine then.
